The Story of Scripting.Codes

Scripting.Codes was born from a vision: to build the kind of persistent online world that players could call home for years — not months.

We started as a single developer with a question: what would a truly handcrafted MMORPG feel like if built with modern engineering and no compromises? That question became Relicts — and Relicts became the reason Scripting.Codes exists.

Every line of server code, every Unity scene, every system was designed and built entirely by our team. We're a small studio, but we think in decades — not quarters.

From a single developer's dream to a growing independent studio.

2023 — Foundation
Scripting.Codes Founded
The studio formed around a single mission: build an original MMORPG with obsessive attention to craft and modern technical excellence.
2023 — Early Development
Relicts Development Begins
Core systems prototyped: custom TCP server, ISAAC-XOR encryption, login flow, and the first packet decoders implemented in .NET.
2024 — Infrastructure
Standalone Server Architecture Complete
Full migration to standalone .NET 9 server with raw TCP, PostgreSQL persistence, WebSocket chat, and Unity-client-only architecture.
2025 — World Systems
Map, Topology & World Pipeline
Custom map format, terrain/building bake pipeline, and the full world topology system with collision and LOS flags shipped.
2026 — Present
Combat, Inventory, World Builder
Combat XP systems, inventory pipeline, scripting VM, character appearance, and in-editor world builder tools all in active development.
Future
Community Beta & Beyond
Full game systems, community beta launch, live operations, and the continued growth of Relicts as a long-term online world.
